Country: Scotland – Islay
Type: Single Malt
Cask:Ex Bourbon & Ex Sherry
Nose: Peat, vanilla, oak and plums.
Palate: Spice kicks front from sherry cask. Honey, peat and nectar accompanies.
Finish: Long with apple, vanilla, nutmeg and a fine smoke feeling.
Bottled by the independent bottler A.D.Rattray’s, Cask Islay offers an unknown Islay distillery. A.D.Rattray’s is known for its good bottlings. They also offer other whiskies inawesome casks.
Cask Islay was matured in ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks but the distillery is unknown. Thus it is a total blind tastings. My guess is this particular dram is from Caol Ila.
Gotta share this dram !!
