Country: İskoçya – Islay Distillery: Laphroaig Type: Single Malt Age: 17 Cask: Ex Sherry ABV: 59.2%
Nose: Smoked bacon, ash, vanilla, sea salt, iodine, pears and flower aromas. Palate: A big body with sharp alcohol of 59.2%. Peat, spices, oak, raisins is there to taste. Finish: Very long with peat and iodine. Wonderful!!
Last whisky of my trip to Amsterdam. Heidi is headed to Laphroaig Distillery. The name was the main reason for me to order this one.
My mouth was on fire!! Despite peat and alcohol I was expecting, I was amazed with ash aroma. With all other aromas and palate structure of this dram I am not afraid to call it a complex and spectacular whisky.
