Sullivans Cove Double Cask

In Whisky by Whisky MonsterLeave a Comment

Country: Australia – Tasmania
Distillery: Tasmania
Type:Single Malt
Cask %40 French Oak, %60 American Oak
ABV: 40%

Nose: Vanilla aromas with oaky structure. Raisins, cloves, figs, plums and flower notes.
Palate: Considerably sweet, round and soft. Like a caramelized sauce on a fruity pie. Honey, caramel, raisins, paste of grape traces. A delicate palate.
Finish:Short with menthol, chocolate and spices.

My honest opinion is, Aussie whiskies will be the next Japanese in the future. Producers are smart, hard working and developing their product step by step.

Another crazy Aussie from Tasmania. Price is somewhat high though it is a whisky which makes you feel both oaks clearly ending as a delicate one.

Tasmania Distillery might be the most southern distillery of the world. With Sullivans Cove French Oak they have won “The Best Single Malt” in WWA 2014.
